Five years. It's been five years since we last saw Elaina traveling from country to country with that signature smirk and her morally gray adventures. When the Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina film announcement dropped at GA FES 2026, I'll admit - I didn't think we'd ever see more of this series animated. The first season left such an impression with its episodic storytelling and beautiful animation, and now we're finally getting more. A film format is interesting too - I'm curious if they'll adapt a specific arc or go for an original story. Either way, Elaina's back, and that's all that matters.

More than five years after the first anime season aired, the Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina segment at GA FES 2026 today officially announced that a new anime film is in production. Additional details, such as animation staff and release date, were not confirmed at the time of reporting.

About the Series

The first season of the Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina anime was directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka (Shangri-La Frontier) at studio C2C, with series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun), character designs by Takeshi Oda (Otaku Elf) and music by AstroNoteS. Jougi Shiraishi and Azure created the original light novels.
