For the first time in Puella Magi Madoka Magica history, the franchise is heading to IMAX.

The upcoming Puella Magi Madoka Magica -Walpurgisnacht Rising- film will receive an IMAX release in Japan on August 28, the same day as its standard theatrical opening.

A new visual was also released to announce the IMAX screenings, featuring Walpurgisnacht.

Much of the staff behind Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion returns for the new film at SHAFT.
