Shingo Yamashita (the legendary animator behind some of the most stunning Naruto and Mob Psycho 100 sequences) is finally making his feature film directorial debut, and it's one of the most creative spins on a classic Japanese tale I've seen in a while. Cosmic Princess Kaguya! just dropped a new trailer along with cast announcements, and the January 22 Netflix release date can't come soon enough. This is exactly the kind of original anime film that deserves all the attention.

The upcoming original anime film Cosmic Princess Kaguya! revealed a new trailer, artwork and cast additions today. The film begins streaming via Netflix on January 22, 2026.
