World Trigger 1st Season, the upcoming reboot project adapting Daisuke Ashihara's science fiction adventure manga, revealed the main staff for the project today and confirmed that the original cast from the earlier World Trigger anime will reprise their roles in the new series. A teaser movie highlighting the character designs for the series was also published. The release date for the series has not yet been revealed.

When a gate to another dimension suddenly opens in Mikado City, monstrous beings called Neighbors begin invading Earth. Conventional weapons prove useless against these otherworldly invaders, but humanity finds hope in a mysterious organization known as Border, which has developed special weapons called Triggers to combat the threat.

Years later, average middle school student Osamu Mikumo is just trying to navigate everyday life as a low-ranked Border agent when his world changes forever. He encounters Yuma Kuga, a strange transfer student who turns out to be a Neighbor himself—but one who fights to protect humans. Together with Chika Amatori, a girl with extraordinary trion power, the trio must navigate Border's complex hierarchy while defending Earth from increasingly dangerous Neighbor invasions.
