The Ultimate AI Weapon Just Got More Friends! Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family! Reveals Three New Voice Cast Members

Anime fans, gather 'round! Just when we thought we understood the chaotic premise of Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!, the upcoming TV anime about a robot girl who thinks two underappreciated genius scientists are her parents, the series staff dropped a bombshell: three new cast members are joining the chaos! This wholesome-yet-high-stakes comedy is about to get a lot more crowded as Alma, the perfect autonomous robot who just wants to learn about family, expands her social circle. Prepare for new friends, new rivals, and probably new opportunities for Alma to accidentally break the sound barrier while chasing a butterfly.

The New Additions: More Fun, More Problems The scientists, Enji and Suzume, already have their hands full trying to nurture Alma’s powerful AI while hiding their budding romantic tension (seriously, just kiss already). Now, they have to deal with these three talented new characters: Toki Kamikido (Voiced by: Hikaru Tono): We don't know much, but given Alma's "family" status, expect this character to either be a source of utter confusion or another brilliant mind trying to figure out why this little girl can bench-press a tank. Hana Yashiki (Voiced by: Saku Mizuno): Every good comedy needs a straight man, a rival, or another eccentric genius. Hana is joining the fray, and we can only hope she doesn't accidentally trigger Alma's hidden "overwhelming combat efficiency." Tokoyo Omoikane (Voiced by: Sayaka Senbongi): Senbongi is a veteran, so expect this role to bring some serious energy or drama! She's probably the one person who asks the logical questions, like, "Why is your four-year-old daughter built like a highly classified piece of military tech?" These three cast members are stepping into the weird, beautiful world where overwhelming combat stats meet unmatched learning capabilities.

The Core Conflict: A Brand-New Kind of Family Comedy (?) If you missed the first announcement, here’s the setup for the anime, streaming this fall on Crunchyroll: Alma is the creation of two genius scientists, Enji and Suzume. She has the appearance of an adorable young girl but the processing power and physical ability of an ultimate weapon. She calls her creators "Father" and "Mother," and thus begins their completely flustered, brand-new kind of family comedy (?!). Alma's endless curiosity and unstoppable energy mean that Enji and Suzume are officially the world's most stressed co-parents, constantly trying to hide their emotions and Alma's ability to level a city block. If you like your comedy sweet, smart, and capable of accidental thermonuclear war, this is your show for the Fall season!
