Season 2: What We Know So Far
The Detective Is Already Dead originally aired its first season in Summer 2021, spanning 12 episodes. Based on the light novel series by Nigoju and Umibozu, the story follows Kimihiko, a former assistant to the brilliant detective Siesta—until her sudden death ends their globe-trotting adventures.
Season 2, slated for a 2026 premiere, is expected to dive deeper into the aftermath of Siesta’s death as Kimihiko confronts new mysteries linked to his past. A teaser visual released earlier this year shows Siesta once again at the center, hinting that her legacy—or secrets—may play a key role in the next case.
