ABOUT THE SERIES
Adapted from the light novel by Isuna Hasekura, illustrated by Ju Ayakura, Spice and Wolf has become a staple in fantasy romance storytelling since its debut. The original series is published by ASCII Media Works (24 volumes to date), with Yen Press handling both the English translation and Keito Koume’s manga version.
Crunchyroll, which streams the anime, describes the premise:
Lawrence is a merchant roaming the countryside by cart, buying and selling wherever he can. But when he meets Holo — a wise wolf deity in the form of a girl — his life changes. She wants to return to her homeland, and he offers to guide her north. What begins as a business partnership becomes something much more personal.
