Soara and the House of Monsters TV Anime Adaptation Announced for 2027 Premiere

The premise flipping monster fighting into monster housebuilding is delightfully unique because turning a former knight into a monster architect gives the series a wholesome slice-of-life twist that stands out from typical fantasy fare. Takaharu Ozaki directing also brings solid fantasy chops since his work on GOBLIN SLAYER proved he can handle fantasy worldbuilding well, and applying that experience to a cozier story should give it real atmosphere. Ayumu Murase and Ikumi Hasegawa leading the cast is a strong pairing too because both have delivered memorable performances in their respective roles, and their chemistry should bring the odd-couple dynamic between Soara and Kirik to life. And Felix Film taking on this kind of gentle fantasy is a good match because the studio has handled a range of adaptations, and a heartwarming premise like this gives them plenty of room for character-driven storytelling.

Hidenori Yamaji's Soara and the House of Monsters manga is officially heading to the small screen. A TV anime adaptation was announced today along with a teaser trailer, visual, main cast and staff ahead of 2027 premiere plans.

    The Story

Soara is a young orphan girl who was raised by knights and trained to battle the monsters that constantly attacked their kingdom. But by the time Soara is ready to join the fight herself, peace has been declared and her blade is no longer needed. Searching for a new home and a new purpose, Soara stumbles across Kirik the dwarf, leader of the Monster Architects. Suddenly, instead of fighting monsters, Soara finds herself working with Kirik to build comfortable homes for them. In the process, will she discover a new home and family for herself?
