A new trailer for the live-action Sins of Kujo film previews “Dispel”, its theme song by Hitsujibungaku. The adaptation of Shohei Manabe’s manga opens in Japanese theaters on January 8, 2027, following the Netflix drama that premiered earlier this year.
“Dispel” will be released digitally on December 16, 2026.

Hitsujibungaku previously wrote “Dogs” for the Netflix series. In a comment accompanying the announcement, the band said working on that song pushed its sound in new directions. “Dispel” revisits the music they once played in small, dark venues, while its lyrics bring a gentler outlook toward the future. The band credited Sins of Kujo with making both songs possible.
Formed in 2011, Hitsujibungaku currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Moeka Shiotsuka and bassist Yurika Kasai. The band made its major debut through Sony Music Labels’ F.C.L.S. in August 2020 and has contributed theme songs to JUJUTSU KAISEN and Oshi no Ko.

Yuya Yagira returns as lawyer Taiza Kujo, with Hokuto Matsumura reprising his role as associate Shinji Karasuma. Elaiza Ikeda, Keita Machida, Takuma Otoo and Tsuyoshi Muro also return from the drama. Yasuhiro Doi directs, and Nonji Nemoto writes the screenplay.
The story begins when a subordinate of gang leader Kengo Mibu accidentally kidnaps the son of yakuza lieutenant Kiyoshi Kyogoku. Mibu’s subsequent betrayal brings Kyogoku’s men to the Kujo Law Office. Police and prosecutors seize the opportunity to pursue Kujo, presenting the lawyer with an arrest warrant.
Manabe’s manga began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits in October 2020. It has 17 collected volumes in Japan and more than five million copies in circulation. The ten-episode live-action drama debuted on Netflix on April 2, 2026.
