There's something darkly compelling about turning survival horror into a job, treating lethal puzzles as "simply business." The first episode just dropped on Crunchyroll along with a new trailer and cast announcements, and if you're a fan of psychological thrillers with high stakes, this one deserves your attention.

One of the latest launches for the burgeoning Winter 2026 anime season is SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table, the first episode of which is now live on Crunchyroll. With its launch comes a new main trailer and five cast additions.

Sota Ueno (Days with My Stepsister) directs the Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table anime at Studio DEEN, with series composition by Rintaro Ikeda (Insomniacs After School), character designs by Eri Osada (The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat) and music by Junichi Matsumoto (The Ancient Magus' Bride).

Yen Press publishes an official English version of Yushi Akai and Necometal's original light novel series.
