Rich Girl Caretaker Anime Reveals New Key Visual and Two Additional Cast Members

Konomi Kohara as the gap-moe lead feels like perfect casting since she nailed Chika's chaotic energy in Kaguya-sama, and a "perfect lady on the outside, lazy disaster on the inside" character is right in her wheelhouse. Brain's Base handling a rom-com is a solid pairing too, since the studio has done plenty of character-driven work and a contained romance setup like this should suit their style well. The Crunchyroll stream confirmation is also great news for international fans, meaning we won't have to scramble for legal options when July 2026 hits. And honestly, the "secret caregiver" gap-moe premise is a really fun spin on the rich-girl rom-com formula because most ojou-sama stories lean into the perfect princess fantasy, while making her a lazy mess behind closed doors gives it way more comedic potential.

A brand-new key visual and two additional cast members have been revealed for the Rich Girl Caretaker: I'm Secretly the Caregiver of the Most Popular Girl in This Rich Kid School anime ahead of its planned July 2026 broadcast. Crunchyroll announced last week that it will stream the rom-com series.

    About the Series

Yusaku Sakaishi first self-published Rich Girl Caretaker on Shosetsuka ni Naro in April 2020 before Hobby Japan picked up the series and began publishing it under their HJ Bunko imprint in May 2021. A manga adaptation by Sorahiko Mizushima is currently serialized in Comic Fire magazine. Monogatari Novels publishes the light novels in English.

    The Story

    Studio Echo describes the story:

"A high school boy, Itsuki Tomonari, gets involved in a kidnapping and ends up taking care of Hinako Konohana, a young lady from one of Japan's largest conglomerates.

On the surface, Hinako seems to be a brilliant and charming girl, but in reality, she is a lazy girl with no life skills. However, due to family reasons, Hinako has to play the role of the 'perfect young lady' at school. Wanting to protect her, Itsuki takes care of her in a very caring manner. Eventually, Hinako begins to fawn on Itsuki with all her might... 'Now...if Itsuki isn't around, I would hate it.'

This is a love story that begins with a cute young lady with a gap that transcends the master-servant relationship."

    Premiere Information

The Rich Girl Caretaker anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting in July 2026, with Crunchyroll handling the international stream.

What do you think about Konomi Kohara taking on another gap-moe role after her iconic Chika performance? Are you locked in for this Brain's Base rom-com when it streams on Crunchyroll in July 2026, or is the gap-moe premise itself what's pulling you in? Let us know in the comments.
