The paranormal historical manga Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto (known in Japan as Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen) revealed today that the series will be adapted into a TV anime. The main staff, main cast, official website, teaser trailer, teaser art and a celebratory image from the manga's author Hiroshi Shiibashi were also published for the series. The release date has not yet been revealed at the time of this reporting.

About the Manga

Shueisha publishes the original Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto manga by Hiroshi Shiibashi in their Ultra Jump seinen manga magazine. The series began serialization in February 2021 with 12 volumes published to date and the 13th volume hitting Japanese bookstores on January 19, 2026.

The Story

Set in the 1910s and described as a romantic story of boys struggling against the times, the series follows Kodo Iwamoto, a third year middle school student who attends an academy run by the Imperial Japanese Army. Iwamoto is commanded to travel the Japanese countryside investigating reports of people with paranormal abilities in order to recommend them to the school, where their uncanny powers can be weaponized...
