The whole hook here is flipping the Cinderella expectation on its head, and a stepfamily that's genuinely sweet instead of cruel feels like such a refreshing premise for the wholesome family genre. Getting Kujira, the legendary voice of Orochimaru, to play the warm matriarch Teru Konokura is incredible range and honestly the kind of casting that makes me want to tune in just to hear it. Rina Tayama coming off Secrets of the Silent Witch is a fantastic music pickup since she clearly knows how to score gentle, emotional series. And Mutsumi Sasaki on character designs is a perfect fit because his work on Laid-Back Camp proves he can nail the kind of soft, comforting visuals this healing series needs to land.
