Plott and TV Tokyo produce the series, with Plott handling planning and production. Takei provides the original main character designs, and TO2KYO2 handles graphic design.
The series takes place in modern Japan:
Across modern Japan, mysterious portals called Kimon open paths to another world. Mechanical monsters known as Yokai emerge from them and attack people, prompting an organization called Samurai to fight back with supernatural katana. Among its members is Chiaki Kuzumi, whose sword holds the power of the very Yokai he battles.
