Kagurabachi TV Anime Officially Announced with April 2027 Premiere and World Tour

The wait is finally over for Kagurabachi fans because the manga blew up almost immediately after launch in 2023, and this anime announcement has been one of the most anticipated reveals in shonen for years. CyPic (Cygames Pictures) feels like a strong studio pick since their work on The Summer Hikaru Died showed they can handle dark, atmospheric storytelling with serious visual weight, which suits Kagurabachi's tone perfectly. Keigo Sasaki on character designs is also a great fit because his work on Blue Exorcist proves he can nail sharp, expressive shonen designs, and Chihiro's sword-wielding aesthetic should translate beautifully through his style. The world tour premiere also signals real confidence — doing a global premiere event for episode one shows the team treating this as a major international release from day one, not just a domestic broadcast.

The Kagurabachi TV anime adaptation was officially announced today following the reveal during the Jump Press showcase event. The anime's new official channels also released a teaser trailer and visual for the series, which is scheduled to premiere in April 2027. A world tour premiere for the first episode was also announced.

"As a young boy, Chihiro trains every day under his father to become a swordsmith. Although different in temperament, the two spend peaceful days laughing and working together. But one day, tragedy strikes… Now Chihiro burns with hatred and sets out to exact revenge. Following clues left behind by a ruthless yakuza organization, Chihiro confronts the Hishaku, a deadly group of sorcerers that may be behind his father's murder!"
