Jyu-Oh Mujin Dandivine Original Mecha Anime Announced for October 2026 as Part of Good Smile Company's 25th Anniversary Project

Good Smile Company stepping into anime production for their 25th anniversary is huge because the toymaker has been a major presence in the anime merch space for years, and producing original anime expands their creative footprint in a meaningful way. An original mecha series is also a rare and welcome surprise since most mecha anime these days are adaptations or franchise entries, so a fresh original IP with combining robots feels like a real treat for the genre. Liden Films and Kayak Animation co-producing brings serious mecha expertise too because both studios have experience with action-heavy series, and combining their strengths should result in dynamic robot battles. And the self-aware "save the toy company" premise is a clever meta angle because building the plot around a toy manufacturer needing to revive its flagship robot line is a fun nod to mecha anime's deep ties to merchandising.

Toymakers Good Smile Company are celebrating their 25th anniversary with "The God of Combined Series" project, and the first installment for this project is a newly announced original mecha anime series entitled Jyu-Oh Mujin Dandivine (translated as "Beast King War God Dandivine") which will broadcast in Japan beginning in October 2026.

    About the Series

Jyu-Oh Mujin Dandivine is an original mecha anime produced as the first installment of Good Smile Company's 25th anniversary project "The God of Combined Series."

    The Story

Jyu-Oh Mujin Dandivine is set in a world that has been at peace for twenty years after the combining robot Dandivine defeated the mysterious invaders known as Aposdoll. The toy manufacturing company Kasuga celebrated humanity's victory by turning Dandivine into a popular toy-line, but poor management and over-reliance on the Dandivine line has pushed the company to the brink of bankruptcy, causing Kasuga company president Genjuro Shijima to wish for Dandivine's revival, even if it means disturbing the world's peaceful state.

Suddenly, as if in response to Genjuro's wish, the Aposdoll reappear in Tokyo, sending the peace-loving people into a panic. In order to save the world, ordinary high school student Gekiha Shijima boards the Dandivine at the urging of his uncle, Dandivine's former pilot, Yusaku Kuroiwa.

Why have the Aposdoll resurfaced? And will Kasuga reign supreme over the toy industry once again? A new battle is about to begin.
