Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1993 to 1999, the Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube manga was previously adapted into a 49-episode television anime, plus several films and OVAs by Toei Animation, as well as a ten-episode live-action drama and a PlayStation video game.

It was reported in July 2024 that the series, including multiple spin-offs, has over 29 million copies in circulation.

The Story

REMOW describes the story:

The town of Domori has been plagued by several inexplicable phenomena. To protect the town's children, a new homeroom teacher named Nube arrives.

Though normally gentle and somewhat outgoing, Nube has a secret side: he is the only psychic teacher in Japan. Rumor has it that his left hand is possessed by a demon.

The messenger of Hell's justice is here to take on the school's seven mysteries, ghosts, and evil spirits attacking his students. This occult action story starts now!
