Ahead of its January 16, 2026 premiere, the hit fantasy anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has unveiled three new pieces of character art featuring the titular elf mage in a series of lighthearted moments — from napping peacefully to blowing a kiss and being pulled out of a Mimic by her apprentice, Fern.

The upcoming season continues the adaptation of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s award-winning manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday and published in English by VIZ Media. The story follows Frieren as she grapples with the fleeting nature of human life long after her heroic quest has ended.
Season 2 is directed by Tomoya Kitagawa at Studio MADHOUSE, with Tomohiro Suzuki on series composition and music by Evan Call.
