The upcoming anime adaptation of DARK MOON: THE BLOOD ALTAR has officially locked in its Japanese broadcast date. The fantasy romance series inspired by the popular WEBTOON created by HYBE and featuring ENHYPEN will begin airing on January 9, 2026 at 24:00 JST (effectively January 10 at midnight).

Crunchyroll has confirmed streaming rights for the series in North America, Europe, South America, Oceania, and other major regions.

FROM WEBTOON TO WORLDWIDE RELEASE

DARK MOON: THE BLOOD ALTAR was serialized from 2022 to 2024 across 70 chapters. It quickly became one of HYBE’s breakout webtoon projects, blending idol mythology with fantasy school drama.

Yen Press publishes the English edition, with seven volumes released as of September 2025. An English novel adaptation from HYBE is also on the way via Yen Press’s IZE Press imprint, launching in December.

STORY OVERVIEW

"Dark Moon: The Blood Altar" follows seven mysterious boys attending the elite Decelis Academy, each modeled after a member of ENHYPEN. Their lives are changed forever when a new female transfer student arrives, drawing them into a web of destiny, danger, and supernatural secrets.

The series combines dark fantasy with school romance, offering fans of ENHYPEN and supernatural anime a new twist on vampire lore. With over 190 million views on WEBTOON, the adaptation is expected to bring a global audience into its world.
