CRYMELIGHT Announced for November 5 with Roguelike Action

Roguelike structure is interesting series evolution—shifting from previous CRY entries to roguelike gameplay refreshes the franchise formula. Wonderland and Tea Party concept sounds creative; the dual-realm premise of prison for souls and sanctuary for atonement offers thematic depth. Poker-style skill cards add strategic depth; building five-card hands with stronger combinations creates rewarding build customization. FURYU's Dark Bishoujo Action series continues strong; the third entry after CRYSTAR and CRYMACHINA shows franchise commitment.

FURYU CORPORATION continues its "Dark Bishoujo Action" CRY series later this year with a new entry titled CRYMELIGHT. Set after the events of CRYSTAR (2018) and CRYMACHINA (2023), CRYMELIGHT is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam) on November 5.

This entry features a roguelike action structure.

    Staff

Plot/Story Supervisor: Naoki Hisaya (CRY series)

    Composer: Sakuzyo (CRY series)

    Animator: Riri Yamashita (CRYMACHINA, Varlet)

    Character Designer: YOGISYA

    Key Features

    Wonderland and the Tea Party

Traverse between two distinct realms: "Wonderland" — A prison where the souls of the dead are held captive — and "The Tea Party" — A sanctuary offering respite to young girls burdened by their sins. At the Tea Party, Alice can confess and atone for sins accumulated during combat, allowing her to acquire enhancement items and power-ups.

Blend Exhilaration With Strategy in Combat

Defeating enemies triggers a burst of energy, unfolding a shimmering blue-violet space called the "Wonder Dimension" beneath players' feet. The more this space expands, the more player abilities are amplified, accelerating movement and tactical maneuvers. Specific skills alter the scope and nature of these enhancements, dynamically transforming combat style.

    The Cards You've Drawn

Between stages, players collect "Skill Cards" in a poker-style build system, ultimately forming a set of five cards. The stronger the poker combination, the more potent the hand's effects become—dramatically altering both attack impact and movement flow.

    Play Your Way

Players can switch between two modes:

    • "World-Immersion Mode" - Minimizes UI, prioritizes visual effects, side-angle camera

    • "Action Mode" - Top-down perspective, keeps critical UI visible, prioritizes combat

Clearing a stage rewards players with skill cards. Dying sends Alice back to the Tea Party Hall to plan her next descent.
