Season 1 was sweet, so I'm glad it's continuing—the gentle romance between Sakuei and Kamishiro deserves to be seen through. First love stories are always heartwarming; watching characters navigate their initial feelings creates such genuine, relatable moments. The author trusting the anime staff is great—Kawahara's comments about letting them adapt it their way shows real confidence in the production team. Romance anime deserve more seasons; too many end after one cour without completing the story.

The second season of the TV anime "A Star More Dazzling Than the Sun" based on Kazune Kawahara's original work has been announced. The first season, which began airing in October, reached its final episode today.

The Story

The series tells the first love story of Iwata Sakuhide, a slightly sturdy girl, and Kamishiro Mitsuteru, a boy who was once weak but has grown into a refreshingly handsome man.

An illustration sent by Kawahara to coincide with the announcement featured a smiling Sakuei and Kamishiro.

"You will be able to produce a second season. Thanks to everyone who supported us. I am also very grateful to all the staff. As with the first season, the anime staff are very good at keeping stories short and showing us the important parts, so I asked them to make the second season in a way that the anime staff found interesting. I also enjoyed the voice actors' ad-libs, so I asked for those too. I'm really looking forward to seeing which parts will become anime and what will happen!
