Studio Echo describes the story of A Returner's Magic Should Be Special:

Desir has seen what happens when humanity fails to stop the Shadow World. Just as everything seems lost, he finds himself thirteen years in the past, back at the academy where his journey began. Armed with memories of the coming disaster, he sets out to strengthen his friends and change the future. This time, saving the world means making sure the people beside him survive it, too.
